Job detail
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you’ll play a key role in maintaining the buildings and equipment of our greenhouse. Your daily routine will be both varied and technical—a mix of preventive maintenance, mechanical repairs, and support for the essential systems that keep our strawberry production thriving.
You’ll work closely with the lead mechanic and the maintenance team to ensure the safety, efficiency, and longevity of our facilities. Your contribution will directly support the success of our operations and the quality of our greenhouse-grown strawberries.
Your role
General Maintenance
Follow the maintenance plan to keep the site safe and clean, including lawn mowing, snow removal, gravel path levelling, and upkeep of work areas.
Equipment Maintenance
Assist the lead mechanic in maintaining and repairing greenhouse systems such as motors, irrigation systems, pumps, generators, walls, roofs, and structural components.
Vehicles and Tools
Perform regular maintenance on carts, electric vehicles, and transport vehicles to keep them safe and in top condition.
Operational Support
Take part in various occasional tasks as needed and make sure the work areas remain safe, clean, and well maintained.
Required skills
Profile
You’re known for your independence, versatility, and problem-solving mindset. You enjoy active work environments where teamwork and hands-on challenges keep every day interesting.
Education and Experience
You hold a DEP, AEC, or certificate in maintenance, mechanics, electromechanics, or a related field. You have at least one year of experience in a similar position and solid knowledge of plumbing, mechanics, electricity, and welding.
Skills and Abilities
You’re comfortable operating machinery such as loaders or tractors and can safely perform tasks at heights. Organized, resourceful, and efficient, you demonstrate sound judgment and strong priority management.
Additional Requirements
A valid driver’s licence is required. You must also be available to respond to occasional emergencies outside regular working hours as needed.
