Recette Panzanella with Fresh and BBQ-Confit Cocktalio Tomatoes

This festive wreath brings together nostalgia and indulgence: the classic donut holes reminiscent of grandma’s baking create the perfect base for our bright-red SAVOURA strawberries. Grown in our greenhouses here in Quebec, they bring back that beloved taste of summer — even in the heart of winter.
With the crunch of meringue, the sweetness of white chocolate and a homemade coulis made with local strawberries, this dessert truly tells a story of flavour: traditions reimagined, shared memories, and the simple joy of savouring something delicious together.
Ingredients
For the wreath
- 16 plain or vanilla donut holes
- 500 ml (2 cups) SAVOURA strawberries, halved
- 16 mini meringues
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) white chocolate shavings
- A few fresh mint leaves
For the strawberry coulis
- 500 ml (2 cups) SAVOURA strawberries, chopped
- 60 ml (1/4 cup) sugar
- 30 ml (2 tbsp) lemon juice
- 5 ml (1 tsp) vanilla extract
Preparation
- To make the strawberry coulis, combine the strawberries with the sugar and the lemon juice in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then let simmer for 5 to 6 minutes over low heat. Stir in the vanilla.
- Transfer the mixture to a blender and purée until smooth.
- Pour the coulis into a small serving bowl and let it cool completely in the refrigerator.
- To assemble the wreath, place the bowl of coulis in the centre of a large round serving platter. Arrange the donut holes around the bowl to form a wreath. Add the SAVOURA strawberries, meringues, white chocolate shavings and mint leaves all around to decorate.
